Ben is a film director, based in London, working across documentary, fiction and virtual reality.
He says, “I was first attracted to filmmaking as a way to explore the world around me. Over time, I have realised that this has to do with its power to cultivate empathy and nurture a feeling of wider connection.”
He has created work for National Geographic, Atlas Obscura, NOWNESS, The Atlantic and Vimeo staff picks, which has screened at Bafta and Oscar qualifying festivals around the world. Award recognition includes a long-listing for the 2017 Bafta short film award for his documentary War and cheese.
Alongside work as a freelance director, Ben also produces films through his production company Shine a Light Productions, where he works with businesses large and small, charities, and organisations across science, the arts and academia.
